Noel Donovan: Co-Founder, Executive Director, Singing Instructor
Noel Donovan first combined her love of music and children when she directed a small group of neighborhood children to sing for her wedding over 30 years ago. From there it was a hop, skip, and a jump into working with her mother Jane Anne Sullivan and beginning the joyful task of building Kid Stock from the ground up. “I knew when I was still in High School that I wanted to find a way to combine my love for music, children, and writing in some creative way,” says Noel. She feels privileged to serve hundreds of children every year as a teaching artist and director for several Bay Area Schools; music director of the Sunshine Band After school program and executive director of all of the summer camp programing. It’s a thrill to hear about Kid Stock’s positive impact from hundreds of former, “Kid Stock Kids,” and wonderful to be a part of providing programs that provide so many kids with a place to shine. Sarah Lopez: Co-Director
Originally from Fresno, CA, Sarah spent much of her time from elementary school to high school involved in drama, music, and dance. Having an outlet for expression as a child allowed her to see the possibilities that life could bring despite the obstacles and is something she will forever cherish. With a theatre arts scholarship, she moved to the Bay Area as a student at Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont where she received her BA in Theatre Arts, BA in Psychology, and minor in Dance. Just after graduation, Sarah received a call about a potential Drama Instructor position from Noel Donovan, Executive Director at Kid Stock. She left the world of retail management and stepped into what would become her new work home for the next 5 years. Sarah began work as a Drama & Dance instructor, then continued on as the Curriculum Development Director, Associate Creative Director, Interim Development Director, and now Co-Director of Kid Stock. Along with being an educator, Sarah is also the Co-Founder & Producer at La Doña Films, an independent film production company based in San Francisco.
All of our school year employees are standard CPR and first-aid certified and adhere to each school district’s employment requirements.

The staff at our summer sites is comprised of an energetic blend of adult teachers and teenage assistants and volunteers.
Our site directors and department directors are experienced professionals with strong backgrounds in the performing arts. At least one year of working experience with Kid Stock is required before one can assume the position of primary site director or department instructor.
We are both proud and delighted to say that many of our former campers often return to the company after "graduating" from the program with the interest of continuing on as instructors. However, we have just as many summer employees come to us through other avenues, having heard about Kid Stock through friends or by word of mouth. Prior experience with the company is not a requirement — in fact, it’s often a combination of veteran experience and outside perspective that proves to be the most effective. At least one year of volunteer experience is required before a junior employee can assume an assistant position.
Every staff member attends a mandatory training session before the start of each summer season, run by our director and senior employees. At each site, younger staff members are paired with adult teachers according to department.
All employees aged 18 or older are required to have valid first-aid and CPR certification, as well as fingerprint clearance through LiveScan.
